Bill is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of a number of community organizations, including the St. Anthony’s Health Care, the University of South Florida’s School of Accountancy Advisory Council, the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg Catholic High School, the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, the Police Athletic League (PAL) and Junior Achievement. He is also involved as Treasurer and a member of the Board of Trustees for BayCare Health Systems as well as a member of the Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg Finance Council.

Bill and his wife, Carrie, are members of St. Paul Catholic Church and are residents of St. Petersburg with their four children.

Bill has served as Managing Shareholder of Kirkland, Russ, Murphy & Tapp, PA (KRMT) since 2005. Bill's responsibilities include current and long-term planning for KRMT, as well as representing the firm throughout the Tampa Bay business community.

Bill received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida. He has over twenty-five years of public accounting experience and formerly served as a Tax Partner with KPMG LLP. Bill has extensive experience working with various types of tax compliance and consulting issues. He has worked closely with various types of business entities and has also assisted business owners with related tax matters. He has been extensively involved with business acquisitions, state and local tax minimization engagements, and representation before the Internal Revenue Service and the Florida Department of Revenue. Bill has also provided expert witness testimony for litigation support engagements.

Bill’s relevant industry experience includes work with manufacturing, distribution, retailing, automotive, and construction entities, professional service firms, and high-wealth individuals.
