On October 20, 2006, the staff of KRMT walked over 260 miles for The Children’s Home as part of the firm’s commitment to the Tampa Bay community. Every year the staff of KRMT selects a worthy organization to either sponsor or to partner with in a community service project and devotes at least one day to that cause. In the past the staff has chosen to work with Habitat for Humanity and Joshua House, among many other organizations. This year the team members elected to raise funds for The Children’s Home in Tampa. The staff and shareholders participated in activities ranging from Jean’s Days to a Walk-A-Thon.
As we were trying to decide which organization to partner with this year, we eagerly embraced the idea of sponsoring The Children’s Home as we heard about the impact they make in our community. For several months we had a small display of some of the children’s portraits set up in the office and we had some video clips taken from the Heart Gallery (see http://www.childrenshome.org) that we played in our lobby at selected times. The beautiful smiling faces were a wonderful reinforcement that we were indeed helping a worthy organization. On November 2, during an Open House reception in our office, celebrating KRMT’s 15th Anniversary, Bill Tapp, the Managing Shareholder, presented a $10,000 check to The Children’s Home.
